Mangalore, Oct 29: The future of India should not be in the hands and control of communal forces. If this happens India's future would not be bright, Mavalli Shankar, state chief convener of Dalit Sangarsha Samiti (Ambedkarism) (DSSA), said here on Sunday October 28.
Mavalli was delivering the presidential address at the valedictory ceremony of a state-level study camp for office-bearers and activists, organized by the DSSA which was held here at the Kadri Ashrama School.
Laying particular emphasis on the need for a touch of culture to their struggle, Mavalli declared “Thinkers may die but thoughts will never perish rather it gets updated. In fact these days Ambedkar has become an ideal, for those who only a couple of decades ago termed him as anti-national. Office-bearers of DSS should take this into serious consideration, he added.
Gana Ashwath, the chief convener Dalit Kala Mandali (Ambedkarism), DKMA of the Bangalore unit, speaking on the occasion said that it is high time for office-bearers and activists of DSS to guide innocent Dalits about the ground realities and inspire them to imbibe revolutionary thinking. Their standard of living has not been very good, he rued. Conversion is the only remedy for all the injustice done to Dalits for ages. Children must be taught of the true Indian history, not that which is sugar quoted by priestly class and thus build matured India, he declared.
DSSA always fights the communal forces and it must convey the message that Ambedkar is the light of not just the Dalit community but also of India. Ambedkarism is not baseless; rather it has firm intellectual and theoretical foundation. The real essence of the Ambedkarism lies in freeing the society of superstition, district convener from seventeen various districts of Karnataka stated while sharing their opinion on the occasion.
In spite of all measures the Dalits are under insecurity like before, it is the high time for Dalits to face the criticism and questions by the communal forces. For this the Dalits must be ready and be equipped with necessary details so as to face them. The camp also threw light on the contemporary phenomenon as well.
