Mangalore: IOC Does its Bit for Community Development

Mangalore, Oct 28: A function was organized at the DC’s office premises here on Saturday October 27 to mark the handing over of documents and a key of a new ambulance to deputy commissioner M Maheshwara Rao by the Indian oil Corporation officials.

On the occasion, Maheshwara Rao appreciated the social commitment shown by the Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and thanked them.

Speaking on the occasion, Jayachandran informed that Indian Oil Corporation is keenly involved in community development. It has even built many classrooms and provided books and computers to students under various schemes. Further he said that with regard to basic amenities, they have been involved in providing drinking water facilities in the rural belt, in collaboration with the government and various NGO groups.

In his welcome address, chief divisional manager Ullas M Kamath said that the new ambulance would be a great help to the victims of road accidents, especially from far-flung places.

Deputy manager Verghese Abraham, Indian Oil Corporation chief terminal manager Paduvai Pathy, headquarters assistant at DC's office Prabhakar Sharma were present.
