Mangalore: Preparations Underway to Celebrate Rajyotsava

Mangalore, Oct 28: The preparations are underway to celebrate ‘Karnataka Rajyotsav’ at Nehru Maidan in the city, on Thursday, November 1, stated Deputy Commissioner and president of preparatory committee, M Maheshwar Rao.

He was speaking while presiding over the meeting of ‘Rajyotsava’ convening committee, which was held at deputy commissioner’s office on Thursday, October 25. 

‘Kannada Bhuvaneshwari’ rally will be held from Bunts Hostel premises to Nehru Maidan, as in the past.  The students from various schools and colleges, Scouts and Guides, Bharat Seva Dal, NSS, besides slide shows of various departments would follow. 

The flag hoisting ceremony will be held at 9-00 a m, ‘Rajyotsav’ message from chief guests, salutation from various battalions, gymnasts from various school children, civil service awards will be presented to 6 government employees, felicitations programme by district Kannada Sahitya Parishat, to honour the contributors from various fields and all the events will be held in a organized manner, stated M Maheshwar Rao, convening committee president.

Dakshina Kannada district Sahitya Parishat president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura, assistant commissioner Shameer, DySP P Dharmaiah and others, were present at the meeting
