Kundapur, May 21: Karnataka state internal security DGP Neelamani Raju visited Gangolli coastal protection force Police station near Gangolli port on Saturday, May 21 and conducted inspection.
Speaking to reporters, he said that security in the coastal region in the state is important and in this connection well equipped coastal protection force police station is formed. “Such police stations are provided necessary facilities so that the coast may remain protected,” he said.
“Ten speed boats are provided to different police stations. The union government will be providing boats to those stations which do not have such boats,” he said.
When asked about the scarcity of manpower, he said that it is obvious that there is scarcity of manpower just like any other departments. “However the existing staffs are working excellently and performing the work in systematic manner. Suitable steps will be taken to prevent scarcity of staff. The newly recruited staffs are being trained as usual,” he said.
He inspected the building of the protection force and suggested to make minor changes in it.
Internal security devision ADGP Sunil Kumar, IGP Malini Krishnamoorthy, coastal protection force SP Chennabasavanna, DySP Sudhakar Nayak, Udupi district police SP Annamalai, Kundapur police sub division DySP Manjunatha Shetty, intelligence division SP Haribabu, Gangolli coastal protection force Police station inspector Venkatesh, Nirmithi Kendra engineer Dinesh and others were present.
