Mangaluru, May 14: The members of Krishi Bhoomi Samrukshana Samiti (KBSS) urged the government to stop the land acquisition for MRPL phase-4 and warned of massive protest if the acquisition is not stopped.
Addressing the media persons, the president of Krishi Bhoomi Samrukshana Samiti, Madhukar Ameen said, “The same 2035 acre land which was notified in 2006 and also in 2015 is once again notified in 2016 for the MRPL phase four.”
“During the previous land acquisition for MSEZ, the officials of KIDB had fooled people and the government through false signatures and false documents.”
“Three gram panchayats which are directly affected by the acquisition Permude, Kuttettur, and Delanthabettu have unanimously decided to oppose the land acquisition. About 85 percent of the land owners are against it and have already filed their objection to all the concerned people's representatives including the chief minister, the district in-charge minister, MLA of the region and all major officials. Last time the MRPL officials fooled us through false signatures. This time we will not allow them to do so.”
“It is a false statement by the executive director M Kumar that they have taken approval of 70 percent land owners. We will not let the MRPL occupy our fertile land,” he he added.
Secretary of Samiti Lawrence D'cunha, vice presents William D'souza and Hemalatha S Bhat were present on the occasion.
