Bantwal, Oct 24: Since all the twelve eye-witnesses turned hostile at the court hearing, in the four-year-old case of Isubu’s murder at Kalladka; court has acquitted all the accused including Vittal MLA Padmanabha Kottari.
Isubu, the owner of a bicycle shop at Kalladka was murdered in the night of August 18, 2003 when he was on his way home after closing the shutters of his shop. Bantwal police had arrested Padmanabha Kottari, Radhakrishna Adyantaya, Manoj, Dayanand Nayak, Jaya Nayak, Jayaram, Yogeesh, Ashok, Vasant Poojary, Prabhakar, Ratnakar Shetty, Narayan Somayaji and had registered case in this regard.
The law and order situation across the taluk was disturbed owing to the murder of Isubu. The politicians had tried to exploit the situation. Isubu’s families were showered with empathy from one and all.
However, the situation has totally changed now. Those eye witnesses who informed the police that they were on the spot turned hostile during the court hearing. Accordingly all the accused were acquitted by the court.
