Mangaluru, May 11: Konaje police have arrested three men illegally transporting Ganja and seized motor bikes and machete used by them. The arrests were made at Kayargoli, Kurnadu grama Mudipu in Bantwal
taluk. The main suspect is absconding.
Belma grama Renjadi Kandila resident Mohammed Imthiaz (27), Manjeshwara Uppala Mahinagara resident Mohammed Siraz(23) and Naringana grama Thoudgoli cross resident Hafiz alias Abhi(30) are the arrested. 1.1kg ganja, two bikes and a machete were seized from them.
On receiving definite information that ganja is being transported from Mithakodi and Hoovinakoppa in Kurnadu, Konaje police station SI Ashok P with station team inspected the vehicles at Kayargoli,
Mudipu. Youth in two of the bikes looked scared. When police conducted investigation, ganja and machete were found on them.
The operation was conducted by Konaje PSI Sudhakar, ASI Bhaskar Kamath, police constables Santhosh C J, Chandrashekar, Shivaprasad, Rajesh, Durga Prasad, Manjunath, Pradeep, home guard staff Girish on
guidance from Mangaluru Police Commissioner Chandrashekar, DCP Shantaraju and ACP Sanjiva Patil.
