Udupi, May 3: After two two-wheelers coming from opposite directions collided with each other opposite Goddess Mahalaxmi temple at Uchchila near Padubidri on the night of Sunday May 1, a student was killed. The deceased happens to be Zameer (16) from Balapu Malanguli. He was riding the pillion of a scooty when the accident occurred during the period one-way traffic had been enforced in that stretch in view of highway development work.
Zameer happened to be the son of an auto rickshaw driver based in Kaup, while his mother eked out a living out of tailoring work. He was the only offspring of his parents and was a PU student. He helped the family by attending to electrical jobs during holidays.
Rider of the scooty which collided and ended up killing Zameer happens to be Abdul Razack from Belapu. Shamshuddin, who was riding the scooty in which Zameer was seated, also belongs to Belapu. All of them live in the same neighbourhood. Both Razack and Shamshuddin were injured in the accident. Both stand admitted into private hospitals.
A case about this accident stands registered in Padubidri police station.
