Kundapur, Apr 30: District in charge minister Vinay Kumar Sorake, on Saturday April 30, took complaints from citizens for the second time at the Inspection Bungalow and said that alternative plans will be made to tackle drinking water woes. 

The minister handed over Rs one lac compensation from the department of agriculture to Jyothi, the wife of late Raju (42), resident of Yadadi Mathyadi gram Gudde Angadi who had died after falling from a coconut tree.

The minister took the officials of mining and geology to task when the leader of fishermen complained that illegal sand mining has caused hindrance to fishing. The minister asked the officials to inspect the place and send a report to him. 

The minister took note of the drinking water problem and asked that alternative arrangement to be made wherever there is a problem. He asked Mescom officials to provide electricity to farmers and for drinking water pump sets without delay. He added that strict action will be taken against officials if the present problems recur.

When asked how far the trip by Tahsildar to Russia justified despite the Chief Minister’s instruction to officials not to go on leave in view of drinking water problem, the minister looked perplexed and later said that he will take action after investigation.
