Bengaluru, Apr 26: Policemen of criminal investigation department (CID), who are continuing with their pursuit of people involved with PU second year chemistry question paper leakage scandal, arrested a chemistry lecturer of a private college on Monday April 25. With this arrest, the number of people so far nabbed by the department in this case has risen to 11.
The arrested accused happens to be Santosh, teaching in a prestigious private college near Yalahanka in the city. He hails from Somwarpet in Kodagu district. The CID personnel have gathered information that Santosh had developed close proximity to Shivakumaraiah alias Shivakumara Swamy, nicknamed 'Question Peper King' since the last some years, and had helped the latter in his business of question paper leakage.
The officials who hit the trail of cellphone conversations of Shivakuara Swamy got to know the role played by Santosh, after which they took him into custody, sources said.
Santosh, 35, lives with his family in Yalahanka here. Before joining this college, he had worked as lecturer in a tutorial college. During that period, he came in contact with Muralidhar from Sanjay Nagar, who heads A4 Tutorials. Muralidhar stands arrested in this scandal. Through Muralidhar, Santosh came to know Shivakumara Swamy. In all possibility, he had played an important role in this business, but had succeeded so far in escaping from the police vigil as he never took part directly in this scandal, it is gathered.
