Bengaluru, Apr 26: Social welfare minister H Anjaneya said on Monday that his remarks on senior Congress leader Janardhana Poojary were misinterpreted.
Speaking to reporters in city Anjaneya said he did not say anything negative about Poojary to hurt him. “What I said was positive, but was misinterpreted,” he added.
“I had said that Janardhana Poojary is one of the leaders who led the Congress. Though he fought for the poor, he tasted defeat thrice. His defeat is the defeat of the poor. I had urged that such leaders should win the elections and enter Parliament again. I did not have any intentions to hurt him,” Anjaneya said clarifying about his remarks made a day earlier.
The remarks made by Anjaneya were taken seriously by Janardhana Poojary himself who was very much there in that function. Poojary who made his speech after that attacked Anjaneya in his usual style. Poojary also used the opportunity to attack chief minister Siddaramaiah as if Anjaneya made the remarks on his behalf.
