Mangalore, Oct 16: Jeevan Jyothi, a four-day camp at deanery-level to SSLC students during the mid-term holidays to boost their moral value and guide them in the future life was inaugurated at Pompeii Junior College Kinnigoli near here on Sunday October 14.
Fr Alfred Pinto inaugurated the camp. Fr Charles Noronha, parish priest of Kirem Church, Fr Anil D’Silva, assistant parish priest of Kinnigoli Church, Fr Sunil, SVD, coordinator of the camp, and Sr Jaya were present on the dais.
In his speech Fr Charles Noronha said to the students that since you are coming out of the homely atmosphere for this residential camp, you might feel lot of inconvinience. But, what experience you will get from here, will help you in your career.
In his inaugural speech Fr Alfred Pinto said that tenth standard is the foundation stone for all future studies and education. "This is the right time to think about your future. This camp will help you to understand and respect each other," he added.
Br Jason and group conducted the prayer. Fr Anil D’Silva welcomed the gathering. Fr Sunil SVD proposed the vote of thanks.
Brother .Jason compered the programme. Nearly 225 students are participating in this camp. Fr Valerian Mendonca of Pompeii College conducted the 1st session of the camp.
