Mangaluru, Apr 23: Police personnel from city crime branch (CCB) arrested the prime accused in the murder case of Rajesh alias Raju Kotian, a fisherman at Ullal Mogaveerapatna.
Mohammed Asif (22) is the person arrested. He was produced in court on Friday. One more accused Sohail surrendered in the court. Now all the six suspects in the murder case stand arrested.

Raju Kotian was murdered near Baraka Overseas Traders factory in Ullal Kotepura on April 12 when he was going for his fishing work. Jagadish Kotian, brother of Raju had lodged a police complaint regarding the murder.
Mohammed Asweer alias Achchu (19), Abdul Mutalib alias Muttu (20), Mohammed Asif (22), Sohail (19) and other two 17 years old juveniles are the persons who have been arrested so far relating to the murder.
Police commissioner Chandrashekar had formed a team of police personnel comprising Mangaluru city south sub-division ACP Kalian Shetty, CCB inspector Valentine D’Souza, Konaje inspector and chief investigations officer of the murder case Ashok P, inspector Dinakar Shetty, CCB PSI Shyam Sundar, Ulla SI Bharathi and Rajendra. The team succeeded in arresting the accused based on CCTV images available and the inputs given by the local people.
Mohammed Asif was working as a driver in a chicken supplying lorry. Asweer worked in a chicken shop. Sohail and Mutalib worked as masons. Other two juveniles worked as coolie and painter respectively. Asif was allegedly involved in an attack on a bus conductor. All others did not have any criminal background. Some sources said they were all involved in tearing banners and other petty small quarrels.
Investigation is going on under Konaje inspector Ashok P at Ullal police station where the case is registered.
