Air India to commence service on Mumbai-Bhavnagar sector


New Delhi, April 20 (IANS): National passenger carrier Air India on Wednesday said it will commence flight service on the Mumbai-Bhavnagar sector from April 21.

According to the airline, the new flight service is part of its 'Connect India' programme, which intends to bolster regional connectivity. 

"Air India will operate first ever flight on Mumbai-Bhavnagar sector from April 21, by its wholly owned subsidiary Alliance Air," the airline said in a statement.

"The flight will be a huge relief to frequent flyers between Bhavnagar and Mumbai and operate four days a week."

The airline elaborated that the new service will be operated on a 70-seater ATR 72-600 aircraft.

Recently, Air India commenced services to Bangalore-Vijyavada and Kolkata-Agartala sectors, as part of its 'Connect India’ scheme.
