Nyon, April 20 (IANS): The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) has chosen Hawk-Eye technology for the goal-line during all matches of Euro 2016 in France.
This system will also be used in the European Super Cup, to be played in Trondheim in Norway, as well as the 2016-2017 Champions League from the knockout stage, UEFA declared on Tuesday, reports Efe.
Hawk-Eye technology, used in tennis tournaments, is based on the use of cameras and will be installed in the ten stadiums hosting the Euro 2016 matches between June 10 and July 10.
Hawk-Eye was selected from a total of four systems which aspired to be chosen.
It was the first company to receive a licence from FIFA and its system is already in use in the German, English and Italian leagues, and was also used in the 2015 Women's World Cup in Canada.
