Mumbai, Apr 18 (IANS): Key Indian equity indices surged on Monday morning, opening after a four-day break.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), was trading 193.97 points or 0.76 percent higher during the morning session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 57.70 points or 0.73 percent higher at 7,908.15 points.
The Sensex of the BSE, which opened at 25,833.16 points, was trading at 25,820.72 points (at 9.16 a.m.) in the early session, higher 193.97 points or 0.76 percent from the previous day's close at 25,626.75 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 25,870.03 points and a low of 25802.58 points in the trade so far.
