Rome, Apr 13 (IANS): Italian goalkeeper Mattia Perin has sustained a torn ligament in his right knee and will be out for about six months, which means he will miss the Euro 2016 football championship this summer in France.
Perin's club, Genoa on Tuesday said in a statement that medical tests showed that the player tore a ligament in his right knee and, therefore, he will undergo surgery on Wednesday in a medical centre in Rome, reports Efe.
The Italian keeper left the Serie A match last Saturday against Sassuolo after a collision with his Argentine teammate Ezequiel Munoz.
