United's Mata says Tottenham defeat leaves 'bitter taste'

London, April 12 (IANS): Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata has lamented the heavy 0-3 defeat suffered on Sunday by the football club against Tottenham Hotspur in the English Premier League (EPL).

In his weekly blog, 'One Hour Behind', the Spanish midfielder said on Monday that "it's good to play the next game as soon as possible", referring to the FA Cup clash against West Ham on Wednesday, reports Efe.

"It's not easy to write today, only a few hours after a tough defeat, a defeat that hurts and leaves a particularly bitter taste," Mata said.

"Conceding three goals in just seven minutes is tough to take for everyone, especially when you feel that you were doing a few good things before that moment," he added.

"I think it's fair to say that during the first half the game was even. We had a good start and they pushed in the last few minutes before the break. However, the first goal was very painful for us and the opponent took advantage of it," the Spaniard explained.

The Red Devils will visit London on Wednesday to face West Ham at the Boleyn Ground stadium, in the tiebreaker of the FA Cup quarter-finals.
