Mangaluru: Lawrence D’ Souza appointed Youth Congress secretary

Mangaluru, Apr 12: District youth congress president Mithun Rai has appointed youth leader, Lawrence D’ Souza Vamanjoor as the secretary of Dakshina Kannada youth congress. The appointment was announced in the meeting held in the Congress party office on April 11.


Lawrence, hailing from Narampadi in Kasargod holds diploma in electrical engineering. He has worked in several organisations and associations. He has represented ICYM Mangaluru diocese as the secretary in the world youth conference held in Spain.

He has gained experience as the local member of Karnataka Konkani Sahitya academy for two years. He has completed several Academy projects taking the initiative. He has organized several programmes in Mangaluru’s popular Mand Sobhan organization as a treasurer and member of working committee. He is also the president of Konkani
Prachar Sanchalan which works for teaching of Konkani in schools.

He has worked as sincere Congress worker in several elections. The Congress party has honoured him for working for the success of the party. He stays with his wife Sunitha and son Lenon in Vamanjoor,Mangaluru at present.
