Udupi, Oct 9: Associate director of student affairs, Prof Chandrakar Kamath addressing a press conference here recently informed that the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT) will be playing host to a four-day technical fest- ‘Techtatva-07’ from October 10 to13.
Kamath informed that ‘Techtatva-07’ is all set to become one of the most popular technical symposiums in the country. It would feature 50 events in software, robotics, open design, mechanical, electronics, chemical, business, paper presentations and other inter-disciplinary events that promise to challenge the participants' grey cells.
More then 5,000 students of over 50 out-station colleges from all over India are expected to participate in this competition. Confirmation from IITs, RVCE Bangalore, Bits, Goa and also from places like Noida, Bhopal had already been received. The event also aimed at promoting better student-industry interface.
The inaugural function at the Library auditorium of MIT on Oct 9 at 5.30 pm, was be presided over by leading automobile designer Dilip Chhabria, who designed a car for the bond movie ‘Die Another Day’ informed Kamath.
Vice-president and managing director of India Centre of Excellence, Sarv Saravanan was the guest of honour.
General secretary of Student Council of MIT, Amith Agarwal, chairman of Techtatva Committee, Rig Divyanshu Preet, operation in-charge Inderdeep Singh and media in-charge Gautham were also present on the occasion.
