Panaji, Oct 7: Eminent Goan Konkani writer Ravindra Kelekar (82) has been conferred with the prestigious Sahitya Akademi  Fellowship.

The honour was bestowed at a special presentation function organized by the Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi in the Dinanath Mangueshkar Auditorium at Kala Academy, Panaji.
 
President of the Sahitya Akademi Prof Gopichand Narang conferred the fellowship on Ravindra Kelekar in the presence of Akademi vice president Bandopadhyay, Goa Konkani Academy president Pundalik Naik, Sahitya Akademi award-winning Writers Damodar Mauzo, Dutta Damodar Naik and writer Maria Aurora Couto.

Ravindra Kelekar has now entered the galaxy of noted Indian literary laureates and will now be counted among and looked up to as one of the gems of Indian literature. Ravindra Kelekar is a strict follower of the Gandhian principles and a notable man of letters.
