Mangaluru, Apr 3: Interlock road constructed at the cost of Rs 3.5 lac, in front of Cascia Church was inaugurated by former mayor Jacintha Vijaya Alfred here at Cascia on Sunday, April 3.
Addressing the gathered, Jacintha Alfred said, “This is a very essential road which needed attention. I myself had noticed the problem here, when a delegation of Catholic Sabha members met me I happily agreed to undertake this job. Accordingly now the interlock road has been built.”
“It is the responsibility of MCC to provide basic infrastructure and we have fulfilled. Very often people turn back after their work is done. But I thank these people for showing the gratitude,” she added.
Local corporator Rathikala, parish priest of Cascia church, Fr Herald Mascarenhas, assistant parish priest, Fr Sunil Pinto, Fr Jacob Alvares, William Dalmeida and others were present.
