The complainant, who happens to be the mother of a SSLC student, said that two men who happen to be her relatives, had taken her daughter away on some pretext and attempted to rape her.

The victim hails from near Sediyapu in Bannur village here. Her mother was overtaken by worries as her daughter, who had left home to appear for SSLC examination, did not return for long. The girl returned home later, and narrated her tale of woe.

Two young men, who happen to be the girl's relatives, it is gathered, had coaxed the girl to accompany them to a secluded spot away from the town, where they tried to rape her. The policemen have registered case against the two under provisions relating to abduction and rape besides POCSO.
