Mangaluru, Mar 28: Madhu S Manohar, environment engineer at Mangaluru City Corporation addressed post graduate students of biological sciences at St Aloysius College Loyola Centre for Research and Innovation.
M S Manohar engaged the students for more than two hours explaining each step required in the roadmap to becoming an entrepreneur. He advised the students to take the right steps with the help of mentors and persons involved in the process of setting up various types of businesses in their domain of expertise such as food science and technology, biotechnology and biochemistry.
The environment engineer said that there may be different types of industries such as red, orange and green. One needs to have proper knowledge, enthusiasm and courage to take risks to get into Stand up India, Start up India and Make in India. The vision of each person needs to be actualized by taking the right step at the right time. He explained the role of various governments and other regulatory/accreditation bodies which assist in the process of setting up a business whether it is home based or micro, small and medium enterprises. He emphasized the role of marketing strategy for the various products and processes.
Manohar being an expert in solid waste management expressed his desire to let each one save nature and environment by taking small steps at home and on institutional level. Through a video he conveyed the message that desirable change in society can be brought about by each of us, by taking on the role of a leader and leading with determination, courage and a transparent manner.
Dr Donald D’Souza, former principal of St Aloysius Evening College, Dr Melwyn D’Cunha S J, the coordinator of food science and technology were present on this occasion of conscientizing the students to become potential entrepreneurs of the future.
