Chennai, Oct 4: Rani Mukherjee will reportedly star opposite Tamil superstar Rajnikant in a film produced by Kamal Haasan and directed by Mani Ratnam .

Recently, the popular trio of Tamil personalities – Rajnikant, Ratnam and Kamal – met and discussed the possibility of making a film together.

According to sources, Kamal came forward to produce the film with Rajnikant as the leading hero. Ratnam will be directing for Kamal’s production company.

Although Kamal denied this, insiders say the project is on and will soon take-off.

And the actress who will play the female lead role will be none other than Bollywood’s own Rani.

Not only the fact that Rani has a good rapport with Ratnam and had acted in his Yuva but also the fact that helps in her favour is that Rajnikant has for long been wishing to act with Rani.

In fact, director Shankar also wanted to cast her in the Tamil blockbuster Sivaji but Rani could not adjust bulk dates.

So gear up to see Rani opposite the King of Tamil cinema.
