Beltangady: Police raid illegal slaughterhouse - accused flee

Beltangady, Mar 30: Personnel of the town police station here raided an illegal slaughterhouse at Kanyadi within the limits of Nada gram panchayat on Tuesday March 29. Realizing that the place was about to be raided, the accused fled from the scene, leaving behind the carcass of a cow that had just been killed.

A police team led by police sub-inspector,Sandesh, had conducted the raid on the basis of reliable information. The slaughterhouse was located inside a plantation owned by George from Guripalla. The accused, observing that police personnel were closing in on them, ran away from the spot. The policemen have seized a hatchet used for killing the cow, carcass of a cow, four motor bikes, and some other things.

The police have identified the accused as locals, George, Simon, Binoy, and Manoj. They have launched a manhunt for them.
