Mangaluru, Mar 29: Health minster U T Khader on Tuesday March 29 visited the house of slain RTI activist Vinayak Baliga at PVS Kala Kunj Road, Kodialbail here.
Baliga was hacked to death early morning on March 21 near his house. Two supari killers have been arrested in the case so far.
The minister assured the family that as a few influential persons were said to be involved in the murder, he would speak to home minister Dr Parameshwara and request him to provide full powers to the police to conduct the investigation in a free and fair manner.
He also assured the culprit would be put behind the bars at the earliest, no matter who the person may be.
Speaking to reporters, Khader reiterated that strict action would be taken against the culprit, whoever it may be.
Former mayor Mahabala Marla, former deputy mayor Kavitha Vasu, corporator Praveen Chandra Alva accompanied the minister during his visit.
