Bengaluru, Mar 27: Violence at its worst. A father has killed his own daughter on Friday, March 26. And it was daughter’s birthday.
Lokesh (40) is the accused. He has been arrested by police. Lakshmi (5) is the person deceased.
Lokesh originally from Chamarajpet got married Mahadevi seven years ago. Daughter Lakshmi was born after two years of marriage.
As Lokesh did not work and was an alcoholic, he could not look after wife and daughter well. He also opted to stay with his parents. Mahadevi decided to stand on her own legs.
Mahadevi separated from her husband and rented a house at Kaveri Nagar in Banashankari in city to look after her daughter. She worked as a domestic help. Lokesh started visiting his wife often. Every time he came, he said Lakshmi was not his real daughter. Lokesh accused Mahadevi of being in relationship with other man and said that unnamed man was the real father of Lakshmi. Mahadevi became pregnant recently. Lokesh started doubting her this time also.
On Friday March 25, Lokesh came to Mahadevi’s house at 12.30 pm. He had a quarrel with her about her fidelity. Then Lokesh took Lakshmi and said that he will take her out. Mahadevi refused saying it was Lakshmi’s birthday and hence she should not go out with Lokesh. Lokesh agreed. But when Mahadevi went to the bathroom for bath, he took Lakshmi out without Mahadevi’s knowledge.
Lokesh took Lakshmi to BGS hospital garden and killed her. Police caught Lokesh and subjected him to interrogation. Lokesh who was in inebriated state said he did not kill Lakshmi at all. Then he took the police to wrong places. But ultimately at night at around 10.30 pm, he admitted to the crime of killing his daughter.
The incident had sent shockwaves in the area.
