Beltangady, Mar 26: An autorickshaw tempo that was reportedly carrying stolen cattle hit a motor bike near Neriya in the taluk before tumbling on the road on Friday march 25.
The three-wheeler tempo which was speeding towards Kakkinje from the direction of Aniyoor, Kulenadu in Neriya village, hit a motor bike that Kushalappa was riding towards his home after attending the Brahmakalashotsava programme at Belalu temple. Both the vehicles tumbled after the accident. Bike rider, Kushalappa, and pillion rider, Sachin, escaped from getting hurt, but the motor bike suffered major damages, it is said.
The three-wheeler had two stolen bullocks inside, it is said. After the accident, Ibrahim and Abdul Razack, who were in the tempo, reportedly posed life threat to Kushalappa. On the basis of a complaint made by Kushalappa, a case stands registered in Dharmasthala police station.
A case about four jersey cows having been stolen from the cattle shed of Shashikala Jain from Neerachilume in Ujire village on the night of Thursday was also filed in this police station.
