Puttur, Mar 24: Dakshina Kannada district superintendent of police, S D Sharanappa, has passed instructions to both Uppinangady and Puttur rural police to investigate complaints about spreading defamatory and degrading messages about leaders of Samastha Kerala Students Federation and Samastha Kerala outfits by a man from Kashipatna. It is alleged that Abdul Khadaer Kukkila, a resident of Kashipatna, has been posting these messages in a group known as 'Veekshaka' by using foreign sim.

Haji Kempi Mustafa, Muslim religious leader and president of Uppinangady central Jumma Masjid had filed a complaint about these indecent Whatsapp posts in Uppinangady station. The policemen had registered a case about this allegation.

It is said that over 30 pages of contemptuous matter was posted about Prof Anees Kausari o Kumbra Karnataka Islamic Centre, and his family members. The accused was summoned to the police station by the Puttur rural station, where he was made to execute a bond not to get involved with such activities. The SP asked the concerned to take strict action, following complaints received from the general public about the possibility of his sim used during his stay at Dubai for posting indecent remarks, and suspecting that he would have made threat calls to dignitaries.

The accused, Abdul Khader Kukkila, runs an educational institution at Kashipatna. Several have expressed the suspicion that he is a leading link in remitting Hawala money received from the Gulf region. People have also expressed doubts that he would have been behind some threat calls received from foreign numbers belonging to the Gulf countries and Untied Arab Emirates by Hindu leaders since a year.
