Manipal, Mar 7: The School of Communication (SOC) students organised a flash mob on March 6 at the Malpe Beach to promote Namma Angadi, the annual exhibition cum sale of handicraft, handloom and organic products in association with the NGO, Namma Bhoomi.
This was the third performance of the week by SOC students with the earlier ones being performed at Kamath Circle and Tiger Circle, here.
A flash mob is a performance wherein random members of the crowd come together to perform a particular act, often coordinated and practised and dispersed just as quickly. Featuring about 35 dancers, the flash mob was choreographed by the Namma Angadi 2016 team. The flash mob was one of the promotional activities pulled out by the team to bring awareness about the Namma Angadi sale happening at School of Communication, in the city this month.
The flash mob was witnessed by hundreds of people, thus making it a huge success. In 12 years of Namma Angadi’s existence, this has been the first season wherein three flash mobs have been successfully conceptualised and executed. Last year saw more than 12, 000 people attending the sale from Manipal, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada. This year they aim to triple their outreach.
