Justice Chandrashekar inaugurates women and children awareness campaign

Udupi, Feb 28: State high court judge A V Chandrashekar inaugurated women and children awareness creative programme on Saturday, February 27 at town hall Ajjarakad in city.

The programme was organized by the Bar association, Sri Kshetra Dharmasthala Gramabhivruddhi Yojane Udupi and women and children development department.



Addressing the gathering Justice Chandrashekar said "This district has given adorable place for women. We should think how many women have got such positions in this society. It is very important to know about the plans of the government and their effective implementation. Indian constitution has given social, economical, political equality without any discrimination. Article 15 (3) prohibits discrimination on the basis of religion, race, caste, sex or place of birth. Women have not received equality in property so far,”

He stressed the women to open joint accounts with their husbands.“Men should treat women equally as same blood flows in all human body. People should make use of such awareness creative programmes.” He urged.

He suggested introducing an encyclopaedia for women on health and education.

Dayanand K presided over the programme.
