M'luru: Photo exhibition on Devaraj Urs inaugurated in city

Mangaluru, Feb 25: A two-day photo exhibition on the former Chief Minister D Devaraj Urs was inaugurated by A B Ibrahim, Deputy Commissioner here at Karnataka State Government Employees Association Hall, Mini Vidhana Soudha premises on February 25.















A B Ibrahim said "Devraj Urs was a great leader who baught about the social and economic reforms during his tenure. He has contributed a lot to bring social equality in the society. I am happy to note that the exhibition has been organised here. This will help the younger generation to know about the contributions of Urs to the state and let it be a beacon light to many."

The exhibition is being held in all 30 districts from today onwards. The exhibition will potray pictures on Urs' childhood life, his education days, his political and social life. His exemplary schemes like land reforms spearheaded by him, in which the tiller of the land became the owner, his contributions to general public, various incidents that occured when Indira Gandhi contested from Chickamangaluru constituency, are captured in the pictures.

This exhibition will be helpful in dissemination of information among the younger generation and students about the contribution given to the state by Devraj Urs. Students from various school will visit this two day photo exhibition.

Shrividya the CEO of ZP, Prakash Nayak the president of state government employees association and others were present.
