Mangaluru, Feb 19: The Department of MBA, St Aloysius Institute of Management and Information Technology (AIMIT), Beeri, St Aloysius College, held ‘Sanjeevini’, a voluntary blood donation camp in collaboration with the Indian Red Cross Society on 18 February. The program was inaugurated by the chief guest Dr Sushil Jathanna, director of Global Healthcare, here.
Dr Sushil Jathanna spoke about how the Red Cross Society was formed and the role of the Indian Red Cross Society. He spoke about its vision, which is to provide blood free of cost to BPL card holders and make it affordable to others. He maintained that events like this are a step towards that noble goal. He congratulated the organizers for organizing an event like this which had a righteous cause behind it and wished well to all participants and donors.
Fr Pradeep Sequeira - administrator AIMIT, Dr Rowena Wright – dean academics MBA department, Ravi Kudtarker – faculty co ordinator Sanjeevini, Royce Baretto – management secretary MBA, Mecoali Gonsalves and Akash Fernandes, student co ordinators Sanjeevini were the other dignitaries present at the inaugural.
‘Sanjeevini’ was started in the year 2006 and has been a success till date. The aim of this camp is to inculcate community work and social responsibility among students. Blood donation favors growth and hope and it is to be remembered that one does not need to be a doctor to save lives. The public was also invited to donate blood and to be part of Sanjeevini 2016.
