Udupi, Feb 11: “BJP is completely prepared for Zilla panchayat and Taluk panchayat elections. BJP will win all the seven zilla panchayat and 19 taluk panchayat seats and achieve a clean sweep in Kaup constituency,” said Kaup constituency BJP president K Suresh Nayak.
Speaking in a news conference held at Kaup BJP office on Thursday, February 11, he said that BJP will win with huge margins as the Congress government, local MLAs and district in charge minister have neglected the citizens.
Speaking about UPCL, he said that the state government has entered into an agreement in the investor’s conference through ‘Invest Karnataka’ for third stage extension.
“District in charge minister himself had participated in the meeting. However it is regrettable that the minister and Congress leaders are blaming BJP for the lapses. The voters and the BJP activists will answer to such drama in the upcoming elections,” he said.
“The state government has said the project will be implemented only if the local people and the state government agree to provide land. Congress has been saying that Adani group has a relationship with the BJP but they are preparing for Zilla panchayat and Taluk panchayat elections with money from Adani. The campaign by the Congress is against UPCL payment,” he alleged.
“The district in charge minister is busy laying foundation stones for the projects approved during BJP rule and inauguration of completed projects. There are no large projects in Kaup constituency and Udupi district during the last two and a half years. The minister has made a false promise that Rs 150 crores are released for Kaup municipal council. Let the minister present at least ten projects that are approved and completed during his term,” he challenged.
“The state government is completely dead and Kaup constituency is like an entire state for the minister. Those who come to participate in the minister’s programme and submit their petitions are being admitted in the party by presenting a flower. It is miserable to see Congress in such state,” he said.
“Udupi district in charge minister at Belapu cooperative association auditorium in the guise of election campaign has called a meeting of the members of self-help groups. He has provided lunch violating election code of conduct. The BJP has complained against it to the deputy commissioner and election commission,” he added.
Former MLA Lalaji R Mendon, party leaders Suresh P Gurme, Prakash Shetty Padebettu, Srinivas Sharma, Pravin Kumar Gurme, Sandeep Kumar, Santhosh Suvarna, Navin S K and Sachin Bolje were present in the news conference.
