Kasargod, Feb 11: District additional sessions judge has sentenced on Wednesday, February 10, a murder suspect who was absconding from Jail after assaulting the Jail warden and three others to three and a half year's imprisonment and snapped a fine of Rs two thousands on each of them.
The convicts are Bovikkana Malla road resident Thangachan alias Thekkan Rajan(62), Manjeshwar Hosabettu resident Mohammed Iqbal(31), Karadka Karmathodi resident Rajesh(34) and Hosabettu Jara house resident Mohammed Rashid(32). Among them Mohammed Rashid(32) is a murder suspect.
The four are sentenced in connection with five different cases. The incident had occurred on November 20, 2012. The four convicts who were undergoing imprisonment had assaulted Sub Jail warden Pavithra and fled. Their attempt to murder, deceit, disruption to work and escape from prison are proved in the court. The escaped prisoners were arrested by the Police within a few days.
