New Delhi, Jan 15 (IANS): A two-day conference on 'Strengthening Cooperative Federalism: National Perspectives and International Experience' will be inaugurated here on January 20 by union Home Minister Rajnath Singh.
The conference, the first of its kind in the country, is being hosted by the Inter State Council Secretariat (ISCS), Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with the Forum of Federations, UNDP and World Bank, an official statement on Friday said.
"This is the first conference in the country where the subject of cooperative federalism is being discussed at the international level," it said.
In addition to senior policy-makers and government officials from central and state governments, academics and practitioners and think-tanks in India, and international experts from Australia, Ethiopia, Germany, Switzerland, South Africa, Brazil and Canada will take part in the conference.
