Indian equities open slightly higher


Mumbai, Jan 15 (IANS): The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) on Friday opened on a higher note during the morning session of the trade.

The Sensex of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), after opening at 24,881.76 points, touched a high of 24,912.64 and a low of 24,771.54 points in the morning trade.

The Sensex was trading at 24,835.95 points, up by 62.98 points or 0.25 percent.

The Sensex closed at 24,772.97 points on Thursday.

Similarly, the broader 50-scrip Nifty at National Stock Exchange (NSE) opened on a higher note at 7,561.80 points in the morning.

The Nifty was trading at 7,548.95 points as against the previous days closure of 7,536.80 points.
