Los Angeles, Jan 15 (IANS): Actress Viola Davis says TV lies about women and never shows females of a certain age or size as sexy.
"We've been fed a whole slew of lies about women. If you are anywhere above a size two, you're not having sex. You don't have sexual thoughts. You may not even have a vagina. And if you're of a certain age, you're off the table," Davis told the Women in TV issue of Elle magazine, reports femalefirst.co.uk.
Actress Taraji P. Henson, who plays Cookie on "Empire", added that Hollywood is a tough place for black women.
"It was very important to me that she should not be sassy and neck-rolling and eye-bulging and attitude all the time. Everything she does is coming from a place of fighting for her family. That's why she's not a caricature," Henson said.
Meanwhile, Julia Louis-Dreyfus believes there are just not enough good roles for women in Hollywood.
"Go to the movies -- how many good scripts are you really seeing out there? Not tons of them," Dreyfus said.
