2015 year of affordable 4G smartphones in India


Bengaluru, Dec 31 (IANS) The affordable 4G smartphone segment in India saw a major boost in 2015 as customers found themselves spoilt for choice with many national and international brands with new-age features at exciting price ranges being offered to them.

According to #FlipTrends, a year ender report by Flipkart, the popularity of these smartphones clearly shows the digital consumers' shift towards 4G enabled phones.

The e-commerce site says that Lenovo emerged as the favourite smartphone brand of the year with two 4G models from the Chinese multinational -- Lenovo A6000 plus and Lenovo K3 Note -- featuring in the list of top 10 smartphones sold in 2015.

Motorola closely followed with two smartphones, Moto G 3rd Gen and Moto E 2nd Gen featuring at the third and sixth position respectively. Xiaomi Mi 4i and Redmi Note 4G took fourth and fifth spots followed by Samsung Galaxy On7, Samsung Galaxy J7, Micromax Canvas Xpress 2 and Asus Zenfone 5.

Flipkart is India's leading e-commerce marketplace offering over 30 million products cross more than 70 categories, including books, media, consumer electronics and lifestyle.

Launched in October 2007, Flipkart has become the preferred online marketplace for leading Indian and international brands. Flipkart, currently 33,000 people strong, has 50 million registered users logging over 10 million daily visits. Flipkart's technology has enabled it to deliver eight million shipments per month and this number is only growing.
