Kundapur: Serial accident at Koni - driver attacked, injured

Kundapur, Nov 19: An accident involving multiple vehicles occurred near Koni village on Koni-Basrur state highway on the night of Wednesday November 18. Two motor bikes, a Tata Ace vehicle and a Maruti Omni were involved with this accident.




Two vehicles suffered damages in this accident. Angry driver of the Omni and people accompanying him attacked the driver of Tata Ace vehicle. In this incident, Sharat from Balkur, who was at the receiving end of the attack, suffered injuries.

The Tata Ace vehicle was moving towards Balkur from the town on Wednesday night when a Maruti Omni coming from the opposite direction at considerable speed collided against it. Two motor bikes, which were coming from the front side and rear, also got involved with the collision, as the riders did not expect the accident. Immediately after the accident, driver of the Omni and his co-passengers attacked the driver of Tata Ace vehicle. Sharat suffered injuries to his face and hand.

Sharat got treated at the government hospital in the town and a police complaint was filed against the driver of the Omni about the attack. A case was registered in the traffic police station here.
