Venezuelan cyclists to participate in Costa Rica Tour

Caracas, Oct 31 (IANS): The Venezuelan national cycling team will take part in the Costa Rica Tour to be held between December 14 to 25.

Venezuelan Cycling Federation president Artemio Leonett on Friday considered the event a good opportunity for their cyclists to gain Olympic qualification points, reports Xinhua.

The Costa Rica Tour comprises 11 stages. Besides Venezuela, other countries have confirmed their participation including Russia, Germany, Switzerland, Canada, Bolivia and Argentina.

Leonett said Venezuela's national team is strong and has a real chance to win the competition.

"We want to be leading players at this competition, which closes the continental season," he said.
