Mysuru, Oct 30: An accused not only attacked two police constables who had visited his village to arrest him with a sickle, but also burnt down their motor bike. This incident occurred on Thursday October 29 at Ratnapuri village in Hunsur taluk.

These two constables from Hunsur rural police station had visited Ratnapuri with a warrant of arrest in the name of Devaraj. Constables, Anand and G S Satish, in tune with the orders issued by a court relating to a case, went to Ratnapuri in a motor bike for arresting Devaraj. They parked their vehicle in front of the house of the accused, informed Devaraj of their intention, and requested him to cooperate with them.

Devaraj, who went into the house, duly telling the cops that he would come back after wearing a shirt, came with a sickle in his hand, rained choicest abuses on the policemen, and chased them. He also reportedly pelted stones at them. Moreover, he poured kerosene on the motor bike of the policemen, and torched it.

The locals then admitted injured constables into a hospital. Police sub-inspector, Lokesh, then rushed to the spot and arrested the accused. A fresh case now stands registered against Devaraj.
