Mumbai, Oct 28 (IANS): A benchmark index of Indian equities markets on Wednesday was trading 148.92 points or 0.55 percent down during the afternoon session.
The wider 50-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also down by 37.05 points or 0.45 percent at 8,195.85 points.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the S&P Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), which opened at 27,131.71 points, was trading at 27,104.52 points (at 12.35 p.m.) in the afternoon session, down 148.92 points or 0.55 percent from the previous day's close at 27,253.44 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 27,163.98 points and a low of 27,084.87 points in the trade so far.
Good buying was observed in consumer durables sector, while selling pressure was seen in banking, power and oil and gas sectors.
The consumer durables index gained by 1.80 percent, while banking index dropped by 1.61 percent, power index fell by 0.91 percent and oil and gas index went down by 0.72 percent.
