Mangaluru, Oct 28: New floor of Father Muller Hospital at Thumbe as well additional services and facilities being provided there will be inaugurated at 10.30 am on November 1, at a function slated to be held in the hospital premises. This is a sister concern of Father Muller Charitable Institutions, Kankanady.
MLA, J R Lobo, and assistant superintendent of police, Bantwal sub-division, Rahul K, will participate in the function as chief guests. Bishop of Mangalore Diocese, Aloysius Paul D'Souza, will preside over the function. This information was provided by Fr Patric Rodrigues, director of Father Muller group of institutions, at a press conference held here on Tuesday October 26.
This hospital, which was earlier under the management of B A group, came under Father Muller group since May 1, 2013. The hospital underwent renovation during this year, and will soon have 100 beds.
With the addition of departments and facilities like surgery, pediatric care, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, dermatology, ophthalmology, psychiatry, ENT, ICU, ventilator, NICU, PICU, community medicines, vaccine, dental, homeopathy and others, the said hospital will be able to cater to all the needs of the patients. The hospital will also be equipped with 24-hour casualty department, CT scan, ultrasound, x-ray, pharmacy, ambulance, laboratory services, medical pathology, bio-medical, medial records department etc. Outpatient departments in all the specialty departments, physiotherapy, post operative ward equipped with modern facilities, dialysis etc will also be available, he explained.
He stated that hospitals set up by Father Muller group are already functioning at Jarandagudde, Badagabellur, Mundaje, Amemar, Perimar, Polali, and Canara Engineering College. The next step envisaged is setting up of a blood bank. Those who obtain health cards of Father Muller institutions will get several facilities including in general ward, out-patients, and in-patients at concessional rates, he informed.
Administrative officer of Father Muller Hospital Thumbe, Fr Roshan Crasta, medical superintendent, Dr Kiran Shettry, and head of nursing department, Dr Shalini, were present.
