Mangaluru, Oct 21: The south zone bench of National Green Tribunal at Chennai is likely to deliver its interim order on Yettinahole project on November 6. This was stated by one of the petitioners, Kishore Hassan, speaking to a Kannada daily here.
"Arguments for and against the project were placed before the bench on October 9. The bench will be delivering its interim order on November 6. Four cases have been registered against the project, which is being implemented with an outlay of Rs 13,000 crore, and the bench, taking cognizance of the importance of the petitions, has pooled all the cases that were distributed between two benches, to the second bench," he said.
Karnataka Neeravari Nigama Ltd placed arguments in favour of the project, whereas those opposing the project placed various records and matters before the bench to prove that it is unscientific, an ongoing agitation against it is on, and duly explaining problems it will create for the coast, smong others.
Kishore Kumar believes that the order of November 6 will uphold the views of the protesters.
