At the monthly meet of the ZP here on Tuesday, members said that the government’s decision was bound to dilute the Panchayat Raj system. Members said they would stage protest in front of the Vidhana Soudha if their demands were not met.
The ZP sanctioned Rs 2.26 crore for the civil and maintenance works of hospitals under the Karnataka health system development project. The members criticized that many doctors were reluctant to take charge at primary health centres. They urged the administration to ensure that the doctors worked at primary health and centres, and not selectively at the taluk hospitals.
ZP President Shankar Poojary presided over the meeting.
