Mangaluru, Oct 20: Employees at the Infosys Mangalore Development Centre organized Pratibha Poshak, a scholarship program for students today.
The program was organised to provide scholarships of Rs 16.93 lac for 407 beneficiary students of Yakshagana Kalaranga, Dhrithi Foundation, Supraja Foundation and Bevinje Sridhara Kakkillaya Foundation who are pursuing professional courses from Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragod districts. PRERANA, the Welfare Trust of Infosys Ltd, Mangaluru sponsored Rs 11.88 lac. The remaining funds were contributed by Dhrithi Foundation and Supraja Foundation.
The event was organized at Mangaluru campus of Infosys ltd and was graced by Ganapathi Bhat Balike, former executive of Infosys Mangaluru. Other dignitaries present at the event were Murali Kadekar, secretary Yakshagana Kalaranga and Raviraj Belma, Trustee PRERANA, Infosys ltd Mangaluru.
Following the scholarship distribution process, the beneficiary students had an interactive session on developing motivation which was well appreciated by all the students.
The CSR wing of Infosys Mangaluru funded by employees, mainly focuses on creating a positive impact on the society by nurturing a culture of community welfare and development amongst Infoscions. This is the 9th year that PRERANA has joined Dhrithi Foundation, Yakshagana Kalaranga, Bevinje Sridhara Kakkillaya Foundation and Supraja Foundation are extending support to the needy and meritorious students of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Kasaragod districts.
