Kundapur, Jul 31: A protest rally was held, near Shastri Circle, under the leadership of CPI (M) of Kundapur taluk committee condemning the recent firing on farmers in Andhra Pradesh resulting in the death of eight and serious injuries caused to several other participants of the rally on Monday July 30.
Responding to the call made by the central party, the workers of the CPI (M) all over the country condemned the state government of Andhra Pradesh for its high-handed policy of encouraging the agricultural land grabbers at the cost of government lands left undistributed in thousands of acres to the landless farmers and labourers in the state.
Addressing the party workers, Mahabala Voderhobli, the taluk secretary and U Dasa Bhandary, the party leader condemned the police firing and demanded a non-partial enquiry. Several other leaders and the activists of different social organization also participated in the rally.
