Mumbai, Jul 31: A 22-year-old man acquitted in a murder case recently was allegedly killed by the relatives of the person he was accused of killing in a north west suburb on Monday, the police said.
Yogesh B Rana was murdered by the relatives of Abid Sayyed Ali Sheikh who used choppers in the Pathanwadi area of Powai Monday morning, they said.
Rana, along with one Jaffar Amin, was accused of killing Sheikh in the Aarey Colony area in 2006. Both were, however, acquitted in the case by a local court recently.
"People who attacked Rana include Sheikh's brother-in-law and others. We have identified them though they have not been arrested. We will get them soon," said a senior official attached to the Powai police station.
